Silver travel award for Bhutan:

In 2006, Bhutan was voted as the second best destination by the Wanderlust, a popular travel magazine, based in the UK.

Bhutan tops destination list:

An article in the Courier Mail mentioned that Bhutan tops the hot destination for 2007, according to a survey conducted by Flight Centre which surveyed its customers and consultants and studied travel trends to compile the top 10 list.

The Tourism Council of Bhutan received a certificate from the Wanderlust Travel magazine awarding Bhutan the finalist “Top Country 2009” for the Wanderlust travel awards. Bhutan was one of the top 10 finalists for the Wanderlust Travel Awards. In 2005, Bhutan won the Silver award from the Wanderlust Travel Awards for the “Top Country”.

The Wanderlust Travel Awards is on their 8th year and is voted by nearly 3,000 consumers and based on customer satisfaction levels over the past year. The Paro International Airport was listed as number 2 on the list of 10 Top Airports worldwide. Wanderlust is a travel magazine based in the United Kingdom. This magazine has been in production for the last 15 years.

“Most Refreshing Tour” Award

Bhutan Received the award of “Most Refreshing Tour” in 25th ITE (International Travel Expo) Hongkong in June 2011.

FINALIST FOR TOURISM FOR TOMORROW’S DESTINATION STEWARDSHIP AWARD Kingdom of Bhutan Chosen among 133 Applications from 46 Countries Bhutan – January 23, 2013 – The Kingdom of Bhutan, a tiny country nestled high in the Eastern Himalayas, has been selected as one of three finalists in the “Destination Stewardship” category for the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards hosted by the World Travel & Tourism Council. The Destination Stewardship Award goes to a destination which successfully demonstrates a program of sustainable tourism, while incorporating social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits. This year’s awards panel received 133 applications from more than 46 countries on six continents, with Bhutan being shortlisted to the top three of this pool.
